Shuamta

In Telavi, before visiting the palace of King Erekle II, be sure to attend the cheese factory - "Shuamta." 12 years of cheese production experience has made the owners of the enterprise real cheesemakers. The assortment includes a variety of Georgian and European cheeses.

Product Assortment
Along with aged Sulguni and Guda cheeses, "Shuamta" produces semi-hard, pressed European cheese and gives it Georgian notes. Visiting the factory, you can try semi-hard cheese with the following flavors:
- Saperavi soaked
- Peppered
- Seasoned with rosemary
- Honey soaked
- Seasoned with mint
The company employs 12 people, of which 8 are women. The HACCP standard has been implemented in “Shuamta”, and the products produced here are marked with the sign of Georgian milk. This means the cheese is made from raw milk.
