The cheese factory Kostana is located in Samegrelo, Tsalenjikha, just three minutes drive from the city center. The enterprise has its own livestock farm, and with the support of the UN, a farm demonstration site is organized so that other farmers can have a clear example of how to implement quality and hygiene standards with small resources.
The production of Megrelian gouda cheese is seasonal, and three kinds of cheese mixed with goat and cow milk mixed with curdled milk are produced and grown in gouda. Seasoning with salt and pepper gives the cheese a savory taste and character.
Those who wish can take part in master classes on the production of cheese. The company has a comfortable tent area, which can accommodate 15 people.
